Indonesia will have a new professional football competition. His name “Liga Primer Indonesia” (LPI), initiative results from oil and gas company Medco boss, Arifin Panigoro. LPI attend because of concerns Arifin Panigoro about the condition of the wheels professional competition that is not also produce quality players and national teams who excel.

Liga Primer Indonesia, abbreviated LPI (English: Indonesian Premier League) is a competition between clubs of professional football in Indonesia, held since 2011.  LPI hosted by Indonesia PT Premier League led by businessman Arifin Panigoro.  LPI is not affiliated with PSSI, so that the scene of Indonesian Super League match against organized by PSSI.

Arifin also has long highlighted his dilapidated condition of football managers and coaches of this country, PSSI. PSSI in the era of Nurdin Halid deserves criticism. The issue of bribery and lack of transparency in financial management of PSSI also frequently arise.

This league could reap from the top brass PSSI controversy because it is considered illegal. All players and officials who competed in the LPI are also threatened with PSSI would be punished, though not until the first match was held on January 8, 2011 has not been sanctioned.

This league is supported among others by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Andi Mallarangeng and Kabareskrim Menpora Komjen Pol Ito Sumardi Ds.
